Kira Homsher is currently an MFA candidate at Virginia Tech, where she was Managing Editor for The New River and Fiction Editor for the minnesota review. She currently serves as a nonfiction reader for Carve Magazine. She graduated from Temple University in 2018 with BAs in English and Film, and has lived and studied in many cities, including Philadelphia, Brooklyn, London, and Tokyo.
The winner of Phoebe Journal's 2020 nonfiction contest, Kira was a finalist in CRAFT's 2020 & 2019 flash fiction contests and has been nominated for the Shirley Jackson Awards and Best Small Fictions. Her work also appears or is forthcoming in SmokeLong Quarterly, DIAGRAM, X-R-A-Y Lit, Passages North, Pithead Chapel, and elsewhere.
